Installation: Residential & Commercial
Home Hardwood Floors specializes in nail down installations of both unfinished, sand in place flooring as well as installation of prefinished floors. Glue down applications are no problem when concrete slabs are involved.
Home Hardwood Floors can supply all domestic species of flooring as well as most exotic species in an unfinished, sand in place option. We also have several lines of prefinished floors available.
Dustless Sanding
One of the first major innovations Home Hardwood Floors brought to the Walla Walla Valley was bringing in dust collection systems. This is really an investment in your home. You don’t want your house turned into a dusty mess and neither do we. Large industrial grade vacuums are set up and connected to every sanding machine, insuring jobs are kept as close to dust free as possible.
Home Hardwood Floors has been refinishing floors in the Walla Walla Valley since 2003 whether you have a turn of the century home with vertical grain fir, a 1940’s home with 1 ½” wide oak strip flooring, a 1960’s oak “shorts” floor, or something a bit more modern.
Staining
Customers often don’t know the difference between stain and finish, but staining is NOT applying a protective coat of finish. Staining is simply adding color to the floor. Finishing
We use only the best finishes in the industry. The first coat of finish applied to raw wood or stained wood is a sealer and that sealer can impart different tones. You can choose Bona Oil-Modified sealer that will give your floor those classic amber tones. You can also choose from five waterbased sealers that can either give your floor a white-washed appearance, a totally clear finish to let the natural color of your wood be showcased, an amber tone mimicking oil-modified finishes, or a couple tones in between: https://www.bona.com/en-us/homeowner/bona-system/sealers/
The final coats of finish are what give your floor long lasting durability and we use Bona Traffic HD available in three sheens; extra matte, satin, & semi-gloss. This commercial grade finish is not only highly durable, it has the fastest cure time on the market getting you back in your home with a full cure in only 3 days versus 7 days for most other waterborne finishes and weeks to a month for oil and acid-cure (aka: Swedish finish).
Remodeling
Remodeling that kitchen and need the hardwood laced in where some cabinets were moved? No worries, we can do that.
You have pulled up the carpet and found old floor vents were patched with plywood but you want to bring back the old hardwood? No problem, we can repair that as well. We are experts at repairing and refinishing old and new floors in the Walla Walla Valley.
Stairs
Have an ugly carpeted staircase that you want to actually enjoy looking at? We can install hardwood treads and risers to class those old stairs up. Or you may just want stairs that are easy to clean, hardwood treads and risers make cleaning easy. We can match your stairs to any domestic or exotic wood species.
